Time to end the thing where Ben Moore starts

Markus wasn't great tonight, but Ben was nowhere to be seen. I defended him just last month, but his production has really dropped off since the beginning of the season. I wonder how much we could have been up if Markus had been playing the first six minutes of the game? Ben is our fourth best big right now and it's not really close.

Unrelated note- Emelogu was godawful tonight. I don't think he did one good thing literally all game. I was hoping his good performance against UCF would boost his confidence but he just looked lost tonight against a quality opponent

Ben Moore tonight: 14 minutes, 0-2 FG, 0 points, 1 rebound, 1 turnover, 0 assists.

Been saying it for weeks. He's not the same guy as last year. I had high hopes coming into the season, but he just can't hit the broad side of a barn right now.

Agree. I think Ben could add a sparks off the bench. But Cincy was too physical for him tonight. I think if he adds about 25 solid pounds of muscle over the summer Ben will be fine but he is still be bit on the thin side now to wrestle with the more muscular bigs.

They said they wouldn't shake up the lineup because of good luck.
Now that we've lost, time to shake it up.
Markus wasn't much better tonight, but he needs to be starting.

Markus needs to start now. Ben has disappeared to say the least. I really didn't even notice him out there.

The fact is Markus played big minutes once he got in and Cincy came from 7 down to win going away. Ben has always trouble with teams like Cincy

Markus played 28 out of last 35 minutes. Ben played 9 of final 35 minutes

And he might be our tallest player next year. Let that one settle in.

I think you have to roll Markus out with the starters now. Establish him in the post early. If we're not going to shoot well from outside (mainly w/ Nic slumping, and those fingers possibly worse than we thought) we need to get our guys in the paint going, and then play tough defense and rebound like we have.

I though the defensive effort was there tonight. One of those losses where I'm not questioning SMU's effort or composure or approach, but I just have to say they flat out sucked and got bullied around...

At this point I'd prefer to see him work on his outside shooting. He just seemd timid around the hoop. If he puts on 25 pounds is he then less timid? Sterling grabs a ton of rebounds as a three. If Ben (Moore) could develop a decent outside shot a whole mess of our problems would be solved. We'd have the additional outside answer and we'd have a hell of a rebounding team on the floor at all times. Forget Emelogou. Start MK and let Ben Moore spell STERLING.

I hated that they subbed Ben M. in for the last two and a half minutes with Cannen and Yanick on the bench.
