Its time to start using Ben at the 3

Part of the reason we have started giving up the 3 ball is that our perimeter defenders are just wearing down. Lack of confidence in Ben E shortens up the bench even more after Frazier was suspended.
Get Ben into the rotation at the 3 off the bench. Much more effective offensively driving from the perimeter, and his length and athleticism lets us close teams down. We did this during the Houston game, I think it's time to bring it back from this point forward.

only 1 team has been effective against us from 3 point line recently-and think Cincy was damn lucky

I agree about Cincy. Tonight, though, Ryan looked tired. He was not fighting through the screens or trying to go over the top like he normally does. he was backing off. Add Nic getting banged up, and I think we need another body in the rotation.

I was thinking the same thing. Put him at the 3 so he can utilize his length more on defense. He may be just a tad bit too thin to play the post right now but would be a serious defender at the 3.

having to defend the other team's leading scorer will tire a guy out; Ryan and Sterling both do a good job defending and Gu helped out on the defensive side as well. We just shut them down for that long stretch in the 2nd half to put this one away. Great team effort tonight

I totally agree,
For whatever reason, Ben has not had an impact this year like he did last year. It is time to put either Kennedy or Cunningham into the starting lineup and let them have those minutes.
Take some pressure off of Ben.
We know what Kennedy can do, and Cunningham is turning into a great player with a great midrange shot. Either one of those two should be starting for Ben and gobbling up those minutes.

It might also help Ben to be a guy off the bench so he can go against guys that are a bit tired as he is really athletic. I think he should also get some time at the 3, the only problem is he has no outside jumper right now so him at the 3 allows doublses on our bigs inside.
If I was Ben Moore I would spend the whole off season hitting the weight room, and taking jumpers. If he could add just a little more bulk like 10-15 pounds) so he can bang a little bit inside and developes a jumper he is an NBA player as a 3.

I think Ryan may have been tired, but he defending their point guard (and did a great job). Harrison hardly ever shoots 3's, he drives to the basket as his strength. There was that one time with about 2 minutes ago that Ryan was slow to react and he did hit a 3. Harrision was 3 for 12 and had 4 turnovers so I think Ryan's defense was good.
All that said I do think that Ben in as a wing player is a good idea.
Ben E has made such bad decisions it is amazing. About 10 seconds after he comes into the game he misses a 3 on his first touch of the game, and he was not set when he took the shot. Larry was not happy.

Coach has a nice big man rotation going and I like Sterling at the 3, but it's nice to have a guy like Ben Moore who can give us minutes at the 3 or 4 positions. Allows us to play big or small and give opponents match up problems. Remember that Ben Moore is just a soph so it will be interesting to see how his game develops before he's done at SMU
