New Rule

Can we wait for 5 years of good, sustained basketball attendance and start selling out football games before we rip on other teams for their attendance problems?

First, I don't want to jinx a good thing because that type of talk always comes back to bite you, and second we are only 1.5 years away from playing in front of the 1500 (usually the 500) every night.

Maybe I am the only one, but reading people talk smack about other team's attendance problems really makes me cringe because we lived there for 25 years. And everyone else knows it, so we really look stupid when we make fun of other programs for it.

Just saying...

Spot on JB!
We need to sit tight and get 10 years of sell outs
At Moody before we start calling others out.

I always assume the people talking attendance smack did not go to very many SMU games before last year.

If we were 1-9 in conference, it would probably look about the same. Moody was a ghost town not long ago

No.

It's all the school has and they can't even get that right.

Eff Houston. They deserve every criticism they get.

Sorry, disagree.

signed,
one of the 1500 who sat in an empty moody for over 20 years

Stupid thread. Can we get thru one game without the circular firing squad. You think they wouldn't rip on is if the roles were reversed.

F'ng infuriating.

It has nothing to do with UH.
JB's post is simply stating facts.
Moody was the County morgue before LB.
Let's all sit tight and if ..... If we can go on an mid major run
Like Gonzaga / Wichita State then we can throw down the smack.

So what. Completely meaningless when we are conference lead and going into the biggest game of the season. Give it a rest.

Yeah, eff Houston. They have about a million students and a million alumni all in the area and they still draw flies. In their defense, 711 is open 24 hours and someone has to work that whole time at every location

Threads like this make me wonder if Jason is one of the blue hairs telling people to sit down in Moody. Good grief man.

Who the F cares, it's college sports and it's all cyclical. Let it ride and don't be such a B with an itch.

Meh

I comment on how bad our attendance is and has been just as much as I do other team's attendances.

Our attendance in football is embarrassing for any size enrollment. I agree that we should not talk attendance smack ever. Academic smack is pretty bad and the things our alums say about UH are the reason we have difficulty attracting the regular guy as a fan at our games. Is your life really that bad that you have to rip on people who work at 7 Eleven? UH is not the negative place many here like to make it apear. Get off your high horse. SMU is a nice little school, but let's become a perennial top 25 institution before we start throwing bricks. Even then, we need to act like we've been there before whenever we do get there.

we embarrass ourselves bagging on ANYONE for their attendance issues. we should not forget why we have not been invited to participate at the P-5 level

We certainly have no business criticizing attendance elsewhere. But I do wonder why U of H, with an enrollment of 40,000 and a heckuva basketball history has drawn so poorly over the years. Maybe the effect of pro sports is too strong.
