Maybe SMU should have more events prior to tipoff to give students, at least, extra incentive to get there early and lubcricated and rowdy. Other than it being a late game, the other reason so many were there early because it was gameday and they were already there and probably planned most of their day around it. We can't duplicate gameday, of course, but I'm sure there's something creative that can be done.

No excuse for students though. Hopefully at least those sections will be near capacity by 545p.

I'm sure they find a random gun or knife, but 99.99% of the folks are not there for that purpose and they usually end up finding a guy's stash of peanuts or his flask when they frisk, then wand. The dreaded Chipotle Burrito may get into the building heavens forbid.
