Memphis has announced an "anonymous donor" is giving away a "limited number" of tickets to the UConn at Memphis game Thursday night. To be fair, the weather here has been pretty miserable this week, it will be bitter cold tomorrow night, and there may be some hazardous conditions in less populated areas. That said, IMHO this wouldn't be happening if fans enthusiasm wasn't falling this year.

It'd be fun to get a thousand SMU fans to the game to chant SMU, SMU at every time out.

I put "anonymous donor" in quotes because I don't really believe there was one, or if there was, they got credit for next year's seat license. "Anonymous donor" and "limited number" likely were cited to save face.

Max, you making it to the game next Thursday? Amazing to see how many tickets have come available for our game against Memphis as the season has gone along. Hopefully we will have a good showing. I'll be there - sitting in 106.

I am planning on being in Memphis. May have to sneak into 106 since I can't afford the price.

I live north of the city, and it's expected to begin sleeting overnight, so I'm going to forgo the benefactor's offer. I don't want to risk being on the highway if the sleet moves in sooner than predicted.
I'm sure there are Tiger fans who, like me, live outside the city and have legitimate concerns about travel, but free tickets are pretty radical for a team with such a historically loyal fanbase.
