Billy "Wrong Way" Gillispie will coach the Miners on Thursday night. Surely the students can't let this pass without some creative high-jinks.

CPC now understands why the UTEP coach hits the sauce. If CPC had to take responsibility for coaching that pitiful collection of Div.1 impostors, he'd need chemical help just to dull the pain, as well.

You want to hear something really pitiful? That UTEP team kicked the stuffing out of San Jose in their WAC opener, and tonight San Jose is whipping Tulsa. Bad. SJSU up by double figures. weird, weird, weird.

Well, San Jose didn't end up whipping them, but they still beat Tulsa by a point. Image

CPC is curious, why are you smiling? Games like this are the reason why the WAC will only get one team into the NCAA tournament. That means less revenue for the entire conference, including SMU. Tulsa was the WACs marquee basketball program, for them to fall into mediocrity like this is embarrassing to the whole league. The strong should eat the weak. when they dont, it makes the conference look weaker.

....I'll say this again for anybody who doubted it-any conference road victory is a "Big Win" Period. Tulsa losing to SJSU on the road proves it.

Well said, Stallion.

I can't believe nobody in the stands was heckling Gillespie. That was a gimme opportunity for some serious amusement.

CPC,

So what you're saying is that there's no clear pecking order in the WAC right now?

Fresno plays its next 3 games on the road--against Nevada, UTEP and Boise. They then play La Tech and SMU at home. The Fresno-SMU game could be a showdown for 1st place in the WAC. As for TU, let them eat cake. Time for SMU to take the mantle from them.
