Let's Go Cincy!

I have no doubt we will beat the Golden Hurricanes for at least a share of the conference championship next week.

It would be a shame though, with SMU's season, not to win it outright.

The Bearcats need to beat Tulsa Wednesday to set up a winner take all game. We couldn't do it, so now it is up to our arch nemesis.

Go Bearcats!!!!!!

This is the same type of thing I saw on here before Temple played Tulsa. Not taking anything for granted now.

Even if they beat Cincy and we beat Tulsa..we would have the same conference record but would own Tulsa in the tiebreaker. Thus making this game pointless right?

Yes. But it just wouldn't be the same. I want to leave no questions.

The way I understand it is that what we are REALLY playing for is the #1 seed in the AAC tourney. If we win, we get it. If we don't, we won't (the question is if Cincy beats Tulsa and we lose to Tulsa, do we slip to 3 seed).

Why? We would still have the 2nd best record alone. Put at least a little water in your glass.

No, that is not the question at all.

I can't find anything that states head-to-head is the tiebreaker. Last year Louisville and Cincy tied with a 14-3 record and they split their head-to-head games. They were named co-champs and Louisville got the #1 seed in the tourney by winning a coin flip.

The following procedures are set up to establish seeding for the championship and to
break ties. Follow the appropriate steps in order.
TWO-TEAM TIE
1. Regular season head-to-head results (one or two games).

You see Co Champion banners hanging everywhere, including our gym.

That phrase is worded a bit poorly in the tie breaker document, but in that document I believe they are referring to the championship as in meaning the winner of the tournament, that whole document is about the tournament seeding.

The biggest clue here would be that Louisville and Cincy were named co champions last year...They did not follow the tiebreakers mentioned to name a regular season champ, they just did it to do conference tournament seeding. We had co champs last year.

If we end up tied with Tulsa, we would be the number 1 seed in the tournament, but we would be regular season co-champs. Not really a big deal, but it does make a difference, I want the whole thing.
