It's always fun watching people who don't know anything talk about something they don't understand.

Always makes me laugh when schools IN the AAC hope we get the hammer when really they need us to be relevant for the better good of the AAC. But it's not surprising because they are not the smartest fan base. That was confirmed when I went to Tulsa for the game.
The only school that I've seen hoping we don't get penalized is UCONN based off of reading message boards.

Interesting column in today's Arkansas Democrat-Gazette about Tulsa and their coach. It reiterated that his success has declined once he has to recruit his own players.

Are their heads in the sand regarding their own coach and his past transgressions?

Yea I've spent some time reading the Tulsa boards and come to realize they are the most dilusional and ignorant fan base in the conference (as reflected on their forums). Most opposing fans being fans think their team should be able to be us but acknowledge that we are good. They also tend to have a better sense of the NCAA and what is actually going on and what will be good for the confernce.
Tulsa fans seem to generally believe that we are going to get punished like Syracuse. Now as an smu fan I always worry about the NCAA but, issues with 1 player for 1 year does not equate to multiple years of violations with knowledge of the head coach and failure to correcthe issue. I think at worst smu get's docked 1 scholly for 1 year Malagi is gone and keith is gone for good. At worst.
At the end of the day, they hate us cause they ain't us.

Does a one page post w/ less than 10 responses really constitute hatred?
I'm all for a rivalry with Tulsa, but I feel like we're forcing it a bit...

I laughed that the line saying "SMU will never be a big fish again, they're delusional" (paraphrasing). So, Tulsa is a smaller version of SMU with much more athletic success over the last 30 years. The guy is basically saying "f*ck it," we should all just pack it in and quit trying. Because if SMU is never going to be a big fish, neither is Tulsa. And at least SMU can fallback on the fact that we've sucked for thirty years and no one gave us a shot- justifiably. Tulsa has been pretty darn successful in both revenue sports over the last several decades and nobody (save the AAC) has given them their shot.

What is a "golden hurricane" and have you ever seen one in Oklahoma? (I thought they have tornados there).
Joke of a school. You can't be a good private school if you're named after a city unless you're IN a great city (Chicago, Miami, etc).
I hope they get bounced in the opening round of the AAC tourney. I don't like their fans and I don't like their players (although I'd take Harrison).

So Syracuse, Richmond, etc. aren't good private schools?

The hammer should've come down on SMU before this basketball season. They should've been disqualified completely from being in the postseason tournament or play.
^ that guy is awesome.

Most ironic line was "Cheaters gonna cheat." and then something about it being SMU culture to cheat.
So, does that mean that for Tulsa it's "Losers gonna lose."? I mean, does the University of Tulsa have a history of being good at anything? Heck, I'd never even heard of their pitiful little school until a few years ago.

"Cheating" implies that you are doing something that none of your competitors are doing to gain an unfair advantage. In this context I would love to see examples of how SMU has cheated.
