UConn fan checking in

Greetings 'Stangs,

Just wanted to check in and tip my cap to a great game and a great season. SMU withstood our late run and deserved to win that game from start to finish with the way we played. Glad to have you guys in this conference, which despite being a regrettable situation for UConn, I hope we can start a good rivalry for the future here.

I also wanted to say I am sickened by the disrespect the committee has shown the AAC yet again. Leaving Temple with an RPI of 34 out completely while giving UCLA with a single Top 100 game is a total joke. In addition, SMU easily winning the AAC regular season as well as the AAC title deserves waaaay better than a 6 seed.

No lie, I am picking SMU to go to the final four, you guys are legit. Some of the best interior/frontcourt passing I have seen in years, defensively solid, as well as having a stellar guard who is the defacto leader of the team. As we have seen in the past ('11 and '14  ) that is the recipe for success in the tournament. Larry Brown's impact can also not be stressed enough. The guy is experienced, been to the top of the mountain, and can flat out coach. Brown's adjustments against UConn have single handedly won one or two games in our series.

Anyway, good season, and go out there and kick everyone's asses, if anyone in this conference can do, I have no doubt it can be SMU. Go Mustangs.

Thanks for the post, Kemba11. The lack of respect will not change until we get someone on the committee.

Very kind words. Sorry for Boatwright to not have a stage to show what a great player he is.

The slighting of Temple is a joke. Until we get a AAC rep in that room they are going to continue to hose us. Its lawsuit time if they don't open it up to us. We are the 6th conference - to not have a rep in the room is an outright travesty - and then they screw us two years in a row??? Time to [deleted] big time - we need every one of coaches and AD's to come out with a statement tonight about this.

Thanks for the classy post. UConn pushed us to the limit today. I know that the NIT is a letdown for a program like yours, but it can be fun (take it from us - we had fun with it last year).

When Boatright, Purvis, and Hamilton are on their games, you are as good as anyone in the country.

We will be rooting for you in the postseason.

Thanks. We all just need to keep winning until the NCAA gives us the respect we deserve.

You guys did it last season, now it's our turn to do something special.

Go American!

Classy post and thanks. This conference, despite having the last two national champions, has been disrespected now for the third straight year. Wouldn't it be something if SMU were able to keep the title in The American? One can dream.

Committee has a woody for the Big XII, but how soon they forget how Temple man-handled Kansas. Oh well, let's hope our teams can earn some respect in the post season. Should be well represented in the NIT

That Temple was left out is a joke.

earn respect? you mean like Uconn winning the whole thing last year? seems that counted for zero, absolutely zero.

they look at one year as a fluke and being realistic, we haven't beaten anyone of note outside of our conference. Those wins against TX Southern, EWU & Wyoming just don't count. I'm pulling for all those teams to upset their opponents

Boatwright was VERY disappointing today....he takes a phantom whack to the face...takes a seat for a while...he takes a phantom hit to the shoulder...goes down and pouts on the bench.....

Fouls out shooting 1 or something from 12 and acts like its the refs fault......

Man up Ryan...you got D eed up and couldn't hang...don't fake like you are hurt...

Just admit you got owned...

/cheers!

another UConn fan here.

Just wanted to congratulate y'all on your successful season (especially after losing Mudiay), and wish you luck going forward. I'll be rooting for SMU and Cincy in the tournament since my Huskies can't be there. I think your team has a good chance to do something special.

Thanks to you both. Taking UCONN with so much on the line and the crowd going crazy is huge for us. Yall fought so hard and I think it helps us in the tourney. Wish yall had made it in.

Thanks Husky fans. My friends and I had a great time in Hartford. Yeah, it isn't St Tropez but you and your fans were very gracious hosts. From the car bombs at The Tavern to pics with Geno to pulling for you guys yesterday vs Tulsa.... All good.

The NIT WILL help your younger players as you should get three more home games and then a couple at the Garden. It was an essential part of our growth.

I would have to think that the show both teams out on today in the last game before the sham selection debacle would have to prove that the AAC is for real.

See you next year!
