Just now,the talking heads are really jumping on the goaltending call...maybe the best publicity we could hope for...

Mike Greenberg mentioned it again today and how bad of a call it was.

Mike Greenberg tweeted very strongly about it.
"I don't care what anybody says: That is the most startingly horrific call I have seen decide a significant game in a long time. #NCAA #SMU"

Hopefully they also will all come to our defense with the NCAA drops the hammer, depending on the cause, etc.

If you are hoping, why not hope the NCAA does not drop the hammer instead?

Agreed about winning. You know we said the same things last year about the snub regarding the publicity. I would have rather won the dang game and be in the sweet 16.

...and I still prefer this season's outcome to last season's outcome.

I'll wager this: the NCAA will drop the hammer on SMU basketball, the news of the penalties used to negate the bad press it is getting regarding the call. The call will not lessen the coming penalty(s)...that is not how the NCAA rolls.

Absolutely. We posed that exact "would you rather" scenario multiple times last year regarding NIT success versus NCAA failure. I think most agreed that going out in the NCAA round of 64 is far superior to winning the NIT.

UConn went out in the first round and Tulsa got killed by Murray State last night. Temple is basically in our exact position from last year and still going strong.
I've mostly only kept up with the AAC games, but I did see Texas A&M get beat solidly by Louisiana Tech last night as well.
