Mizzou's 6-9 Jonathan Williams III Looks To Transfer

Being from Missouri and a graduate school degree from Mizzou, I hate to see the team fall apart. However, Haith's departure led to a new coach who did not have a good year last year. Williams was a top 50 recruit from Memphis and was the scoring and rebounding leader for Mizzou last year. If he does leave, I hope that SMU is a potential beneficiary.

Would have to think Memphis would be an attractive transfer spot for him as well. But with MK and Tolbert definitely gone after this upcoming season, he'd certainly have a great chance to see the floor often here.

Rivals shows his other official visits in HS as George Mason, Georgetown, Michigan State, and Tennessee. GMU is a dumpster fire now and I highly doubt Mizzou would release him from his scholarship to transfer to a conference rival at Tennessee

Wouldn't Tulsa be his natural landing spot?

Ha, didn't even think about that. Yep. (Unless he wants to win AAC titles)

Wonder why Tulsa isn't even in the mix? Not that I'm complaining

Memphis is a revolving door right now. Approximately six players who would have been on this year's team have transferred out and they have about the same number of JUCOs and transfers now on the team.

They just picked up Ricky Tarrant, an immediately eligible point guard from Alabama, who put up big numbers in the SEC.

Despite all the drama, Memphis has the talent this year to win big, IF Pastner can get the pieces to work together. Big IF, hence the all caps.

He's never going to put together the talent w/the attrition on that roster. He can recruit, no doubt about that. Tarrant was the ex-Rice or Tulane kid, cant remember

Pastner has to get a team to perform in the Post season....he isn't doing well in that regard.
