NBA Early Entry

Today is the last day for underclassmen to declare for early entry to the NBA draft, and since we havent heard anything about Markus Kennedy, it would seem he isnt leaving. This is a bit of a surprise to me, I thought he would at least test the waters, go to the pre-draft camps and get evaluated, etc., and then maybe withdraw his name in June. I really thought we had seen the last of Markus, but this makes it look more likely that he is staying.

There is one question, does Markus need to declare himself an "early entry"? He has one year of eligibility left, but he has been in college for 4 years, and he turns 24 in August. He did a year at a prep school, so he has actually been out of high school for 5 years. Does his age make him eligible for the draft without declaring for it? Does anyone know the actual rules?

Good questions. But if he stays and makes his grades SMU will not be in major need of a big in this class as much.

Yes, age makes you eligible. It's no different than a player playin in China for a year after HS.

Question is not eligibility but whether or not he is required to declare by today.

Oh well then yes. It is required by any underclassmen. He still has eligibility left. Otherwise he would be picked up as a FA.

Does the BB team have off season conditioning activity? If so, is MK involved?
