He truly didn't get dismissed due to sexual assault.
The sexual assault issue came from two female students at Duke-sponsored, student-run, off-campus gatherings that are supposed to create a "safe space" for students to share experiences. I can imagine it's the type of gathering where a victim of sexual assault would be comfortable, even encouraged, to share that experience, but I'm *very* surprised that two students both named Sulaimon as someone who had attacked them--and also both chose not to pursue either formal student-process complaints, or legal charges. With that record, there's nothing for the school or the coaches to do with respect to those comments.
No one from K on down has said exactly why Sulaimon was dismissed, but it's clear he was riding the bench a lot more than he expected to be, both this year and last, and that his attitude was a problem. His recent statements are those of a more mature person, so *if* he does complete the spring semester and graduate (likely), then he'll probably be on a roster somewhere next year. Some media reports linked him to Maryland, but hoopmanx would know more about that than I do.
