Was about as pro SMU (pics background photos etc) as it comes. Wonder if it signals we had to make room for someone else?

Not surprising given the number of guards we have been after recently. Still a bummer though, this kid is really good. Top 30 talent.

I thought it was strange that he reclassified from 2015 to 2016 in the first place because its going to much more difficult to qualify and/or play as a freshman coming into school in the class of 2016. In this Class he doesn't have to have 10 out of his 16 credits by the start of his Senior year in high school and he doesn't need a 2.3 GPA with qualifying SAT/ACT score for example

So if this is purely an eligibility/play issue as is suggested above, how do we ensure it doesn't seem (to the underinformed or those who will hear this from rival schools) like he is the first one off the ship pre-NCAA.

The waiting is freaking killing me on this crap. It's like waiting for the grade after a crappy test...just give me enough so I don't have to start looking for points elsewhere.

If he is able to reclassify I bet he's Kentucky bound.....

I wouldn't be surprised-the NBA Draft creates some unique scenarios with Top 10 teams needing some late commits

Feels like we are in a bit of a limbo in the bball program until we hear what comes of this NCAA investigation. Shame to hear him decommitting, but with the guards we have coming in 2015 it would have been a bit crowded at this position with him reclassifying.

It is late; but it can be a very smart tactical move for a kid to take advantage of a late-inning landscape where he can land some truly high, high major offers that weren't around seven months ago and may not be around next year. It's also probably easier for him to qualify now than when the standards increase in '16.
