Posted: Thu Feb 20, 2003 5:10 amIf we win 2 of our remaining 4 conference games and go 1-and-out in the tourney as I am predicting, we will have completed our 7th season in the WAC having gone 60-60.
This includes a 4-7 tournament record.
Not only have we never won a WAC championship, we have never seriously competed for one either.
We lose Q next season, and I don’t see anyone who can remotely fill his shoes. This means that next season, while we might see improvement, we probably won’t be competing for the WAC championship.
If this is true, it also means that Simpson and Castro will have only 1 crack at a WAC championship, and that will be during their senior year.
