SB Nation AAC "Pre" Preview

We are picked to win (I love that that doesn't surprise anyone-we've come a long way)

Two things that really stuck out to me:

1) Rutherford's "what if" about Kevin Ollie

2) Every team in our conference had a player transfer out this season (if you include Justin Martin). In fact, aside from us and Temple every other team had multiple transfers

Not sure how you can include Justin Martin. He left mid season last year plus he had only one year of eligibility left anyway so he was not playing this year no matter what.

I know he didn't transfer, but he did leave the program. I was just surprised by the overall amount of attrition

In this SB Nation early top 25 they have us #14. That's the highest I've seen us ranked.

I think Cincy is going to be tough as usual and our greatest competition by far. I'm not really too worried about anyone else. I mean, they could all beat us but no one really scares me. The bottom tier (Houston, UCF, and USF) should all be better. Memphis will be dog [deleted]. And UConn is ... Well, Larry doesn't really lose to UConn ... :-)

No. It's our strategic advantage over other teams to not release our schedule. Why give that up?

UConn is going to be GOOD. Solid recruiting class coming in with Jalen Adams and Steve Enoch, and two big time transfers in Shonn Miller and Sterling Gibbs who are eligible immediately.

Their starting five is pretty salty:

Brimah
Miller
Hamilton
Purvis
Gibbs

I still think we're the favorite but UConn will have a much better team this year in my opinion

UCONN will be good this year for sure. I hope Cincy temple, Memphis Uconn and temple are all good this year. hopefully all the conference teams can hold their own and avoid terrible losses in the non conference. We need the AAC to get the rpi circle ***** that the big 12, ACC, Big 10 ect enjoy.
