wow. I knew we were a long shot but Alabama!? Things are not well in Rock Chalk Jayhawk land. BTW, Avery's son might be the best recruiter in DFW.

This is almost as surprising as Heron to Auburn. Odd.

Avery Johnson Jr has now landed Tyler Davis (5-star), DJ Hogg (4-star), Elijah Thomas (4-star), Admon Gilder (4-star) and Terrence Ferguson (5-star) in under a year. Not bad for a 19-year old college freshman.

If you are talking about Avery Johnson he might be a very good college coach. I think his style fits college coaching better. Neither Cal nor Pitino were high caliber pro coaches but there are in college. Maybe this is more his style. I hope he does well.

I have a huge appreciation for elite coaches but Cal/Pitino failing in the league has to do w/players not style. Hand them the rosters Phil Jacksons had and they are HOF NBA too

Maybe so but that still does not mean Avery Johnson will not do welli in college. We just have to wait and see.

Really hoping we don't pull another o-fer on the top recruits we offered again this year. So far we are 0-for-2 on the 6 Rivals top 20 guys we offered. I know we aren't the favorite on any of them, but was really hoping we could get 1 or 2 - we will need to reload, especially up front

As a fan of another SEC team, I hope he fails miserably at Alabama... For his own sake, I don't want to see him have any success - Alabama fans don't throw bricks and threaten to kill coaches that get fired in 2 or 3 years... the ones they do that to are ones that have some success but can't win big enough to satisfy the 'Bammer "I derive my entire sense of self worth from how Alabama does in sports" attitude.
