The big donor on this project ($10 million) is Bill Laurie, who played on the 1973 team that lost to UCLA in the national championship game. He's married to a WalMart heiress. He and his wife gave $25 million to University of Missouri athletics.

This is not to say that FedEx money (if not Fred Smith's personal money) doesn't fund a lot of the U of M's programs, academics as well as athletics.

On the meta issue, Memphis is serious about doing what they feel is necessary to get ready for the next round of P5 expansion.

The renderings in general look like [deleted]. Facilities look fine, renderings blow.

Got to believe this is a make-or-break season for Pastner. I bet if they don't make the tourney he's out.

I don't have insiders, but I think you're right. The community is definitely turning on him.

CJP has a $2.65 million contract guaranteed though the 2019-20 season, so after next year there will be a $10.6 million payout. This is going to put a lot of pressure on the Tiger athletic department budget. They are looking at coming up with big money to keep Fuente as football coach or hire a replacement; and after the Pastner experiment, I believe they will be leery of hiring another DITR as basketball coach.

If so, we need to make his last visit to Moody memorable.

I would talk trash about their IPF but I'm still waiting on SMU to do something.

Clearly his main downfall is his coaching ability but is an ace recruiter. We need an ace recruiter and have someone who can teach him about coaching...

What's the practice facility like for the basketball team? Do they have one built off of Moody or what?
