Rhode Island just landed a commitment from 6-foot-9 big man , source told ESPN. Big body, but also has touch facing the basket.

This has been a tough recruiting cycle so far. Hopefully things pick up after the NCAA stuff comes out.

I guess when it was said the NCAA results would be announced in August, we forgot to ask which August.

This is the biggest punishment by the NCAA - dragging it out

As someone who follows the program very closely I have no clue what you're alluding to, but I sure hope you're planning to share the details since you put it out there.

It's obvious we've cooled with the recruiting trail momentum. But outside of the NCAA thing we have made year over year improvement on the court so you would have thought the staff would have kept rolling on the trail. Hopefully LB and Co figure it out soon and we don't completely miss out on this cycle

Rhode freakin' Island?!? Really? Did we cool on him?

Has LB checked out and this is his last year? Only reason I can think of as to why we didn't truly replace Ulric.

My guess is the "other issue" has to do with the fact that LB probably can't credibly claim he will be hear for a recruits whole time at the hilltop. Despite the progress we have made and the set up we have for long term success. I would imagine most recruits are interested in SMU because of a chance to play for LB not SMU.

One year under Coach Brown is greater than four years under 99% of any other active coach. Besides, its Rhode Island. The commitment sounds impulsive. But whatever.

Considering where he is from and the schools that were apparently interested, I find the commitment to RI very perplexing.

it apparently has to do with his best friend who plays for Rhode Island
