SMU athletic director Rick Hart and president Dr. R. Gerald Turner met the media Tuesday to discuss the NCAA sanctions handed down to the SMU men's basketball team and the men's golf team.

So is there a possibility of starting an appeal that would postpone a postseason ban for THIS season? If so, I'd be all over that. Let Nic and MK finish the way they deserve and we can start recruiting again. IMHO it's all about preserving THIS season because we will be loaded and can reload next year.

Is it me or did RGT's comments make it sound like the current cases that have been going on for some time can be judged by the old standards. Meanwhile, we have been judged by the new harsher standards. For example UNC has been committing academic fraud for 18 years (and with thousands of student athletes), they get the old standards.
