New year, new slogan.

Appeal this until the cows come home and drag it out for months. We have our most talented team in years on the Hilltop right now, let's play with a PO'd chip on our shoulder every night, win our conference again, and make a deep tourney run while the postseason ban is under appeal. We've got a chance to make big national statements at Stanford and against Michigan and Gonzaga. Beat the pi$$ out of them so the national media has to recognize us for our accomplishments. Sure they'll bring up all of our sanctions but they've done that anyways for almost a year so who really cares. Popular opinion of the causal sports fan is definitely on our side- we can be the feel good story in March.

Larry Brown is coaching for his legacy here, I have no doubt he will be supremely motivated to shut up the Dickie V's and Pat Forde's (scum) of the world. His biggest challenge will be convincing everyone to stay, which I think is an easy sell. We will appeal and give them a chance for a deep tourney run this year. If the ban is upheld for 2016-17, then those that wish to transfer could do so next year without having to sit out. So basically, play your tails off this year and then assess your options next summer.

After this year, I'm more optimistic than some. Maybe a few guys transfer out, maybe we're in the market for a new coach, but we've got a lot to offer- a competitive conference with national exposure, great facilities, an enthusiastic fanbase, and oh yeah, we're in Dallas. If Larry leaves after this season, and if there's a postseason ban in 2016-17, that will be a step back, but this is still a very attractive destination for coaches and recruits - much moreso than when LB took the job in 2012. If the ban falls on appeal, then 2016 recruiting is probably still a wash where we're backfilling with role players and solid APR guys but we will have a lot of talent still on campus - Sed, Shake, Semi, etc to build on for the future. And SMU has definitely sent future recruits a message with this whole Frazier thing -- we've got your back.

Finally, and most importantly, let's tell the NCAA to [deleted] off forever.
