Has SMU ever had the men and women play in basketball tournament finals in the same season - SWC or WAC?

Big games today. Fresno no doubt is the favorite on the women's side but I wouldn't count us out. Nevada is a good team and will be a close game. Should be a fun day. What a great week it has been so far.

Nope. The last time the mens teamed reached the Finals of a conference tourney was in 1988, their last SWC tournament championship. The first time the women made the SWC finals was 1993, I believe. In 1999, the ladies won the WAC tournament, but the guys lost to New Mexico one game short of the finals, thats as close as they've come to both making it. 99 was probably the best ever combined performance, we went 5-1 overall. That was when the WAC was still 16 teams and the tourney had 4 rounds. The women had a first round bye.
