Appeal looks less likely

The chats I had with various admins on the blvd makes me think we aren't going to be appealing. Lots of well maybe pushing sanctions to 16-17 would be worse.
Brace yourselves.

If we don't appeal, I will discontinue all support of SMU in all facets

The way I see it, is if we appeal we better make damn sure the post season ban goes away. I hate to say this, but for the future of SMU basketball it is better to swallow the [deleted] post season ban this year than have it deferred or enforced the following year.

Beginning to sound like RGT and hart are going to bend over and take it in the backside again without any type of fight. Just like we did when we got DP. And does anybody wonder why the ncaa crooks love to hammer us. They know we just quit, rollover and have no fight, hence we are their perpetual whipping boys.

So does the '94 crystal ball say 'Looks Likely', 'Absolutely' or 'Lube Up'?

SMU would be [deleted] not to appeal. Appeal at the minimum the sanctions and try to get them lowered. If they dont, SMU killed the team on all fronts.

But they got all our money with the new pricing!

You dont think an OK recruiting class would continue momentum?
Come on guys. I hate it as much as the others... but if one year (hopefully considering APR) is going to do us in then we didn't have it in the first place. Have faith, pony up, and chant [deleted] the entire season.

I got the same VERY strong vibe. They think there is more downside to appealing due to likelihood to lose and killing a recruiting year or two in the interim.

I think they are wrong. Sometimes you have to do the right thing. Regardless of if this was by the book via new NCAA rules or not, the resulting penalty is overly harsh and should be appealed. We should make sure if we do than seniors will stay.

Sometimes you have to do what your customers need you to do because it's the right thing to do.
