Found this article this morning. Geez, SMU pales in comparison. Wonder how the ncaa will handle this.

They may have started looking atb these violations before the new rules were in place.

because UNC is purposely delaying things while they make a run at the tournament with a really good team. HMMMMM....who would have ever thought of that?

These allegations are a colossal [deleted]-storm for UNC Chapel Hill, that have potential ramifications well beyond whatever the NCAA might do to their men's hoop program. So hoops may skate. . .who knows. . .but the effects of this scandal at UNC will linger for a long, long time.

They should not do that. They should just take their punishment and get it over with because with NCAA violations hanging over their head the past couple of years they have not been able to recruit over the past couple of class and currently can't recruit.

This goes to their certifications as a University. They could lose Dept. of Education funding because of this. A whole lot at stake for them over and above, the basketball team going to the Final Four and Roy Williams getting a 9 game suspension.

I'd say comparing where UNC and SMU are currently at and the history of success for both basketball teams is a very fair comparison. Same number of banners hanging.

"We have no policies in place to accurately enforce such excessive but indirect cases of academic issued with potential benefit implications in regard to the athletics department. Therefore, due to exceptional cooperation throughout this investigation, the NCAA has placed UNC-CH on probation for 5 years, reduced women's BB scholarships by 2 per year for that period, and will use this information to create a new set of regulations and enforcement protocols to ensure this doesn't happen again."

Oh, I forgot to mention, they will also increase our postseason ban to 2 years as a result of these findings.

Of course they won't be. All they did is give out fake grades for fake classes for years to athletes. Where is the harm in that??
