Great read on how UCONNs head coach Ollie encouraged
MK to deal with this season. And MK explains one of the reasons they didn't want to appeal.

Coach Ollie is one coach that I hope the crowd does not boo when he and his team go on the court at Moody.

Major props to MK for taking the high road. Based on enigmatic tweets from the past, I didn't think that was likely.
This thing had (actually, still has) the potential to completely blow up our program. If Larry Brown can practice what he preaches about battling through adversity (i.e. not bailing like he has at so many other stops), and the team shows up this year with a chip on its collective shoulder, we can set this program up for a longer term run. Crossing my fingers that the team can show the heart to make it happen.

During 91-92, UNLV went 26-2 & 18-0 in league play, but was ineligible for postseason. Could SMU have similar type of year? Absolutely.

Yeah that tweet got me excited. Of course, I don't see us going undefeated in the league, but I really hope we go 26-4 or better. That would be pretty sweet.

Having lived up here in the land of Big East for years and after attending last year's Conference tourney I'll pull for UCONN any and every time they are either playing against us or playing in a game where we need a UCONN loss to benefit us…(and no, that doesn't mean EVERY game they play, just when it means it's them or us).
They have a great program, a great coach, passionate and for the most part: "intelligent" fans and a great tradition of beating up on bigger programs.
You can have Boatwright….as talented as he was (is) it was all about him.
And, given our history in the LB era I think they would have to be considered our rival. The games have pretty much all been epic.

Am I reading that correctly? You will always pull for UConn over SMU?

He says he will "pull for UConn any and every time they are either playing against us or playing in a game where we need a UConn loss to benefit us"

Very pleasantly surprised by the response of the players so far. The test will be when someone comes calling in December and has a spot to fill due to injury, and it's an obvious tournament team.

I don't think you can transfer without sitting if you have actually played a game for another team that year.
