If we ran the table and smoked everyone, and our conference and OOC foes turn out to be good, could we claim some Mythical National Championship? We would have an even better case if some lower seeded sleeper went all the way in the tournament. The parallel in football of course is the AP Poll not being beholden to the BCS Champ and having split championships, but I dont think the AP does a final poll in basketball after the tournament

If SMU went undefeated their is a decent chance we would be the number 1 ranked team in the country going into the NCAA tournament. If some lesser team won the NCAA tournament SMU might finish ranked number one on the last ap poll.

I like it East Coast - then Add to it by getting the Big Aussie to join us for 2016 and
we would have a year of success under our belt using Semi, Shake, Sed, Foster and
with Ben and Sterling coming back to help indoctrinate the two Aussie guards, we would
be a terror again in 2016/17. That should jumpstart a lot of gifted players to want to
come to SMU and be part of the successful avalanche in 2017.
