Will he be able to take a medical redshirt? Might not be a horrible thing.

yes-but if its chronic-he might be medically retired giving us an extra scholarship.

It's possible that his chronic knee problems have caused him to shoot poorly.

He had potential for us and gave us depth. Sorry to lose him. This will probably
mean that one or more of our freshmen will get added playing time and help them
to mature more quickly.

Thanks Ben - I hope you are able to recover. If this might be career ending then
keep in mind that it is better to walk when you are my age then to hurt yourself
worse at your age.

Ben is a student at our University and a human being. I hope everyone on here treats him like one.

I, for one, hope he gets better. I have a lot of respect for someone who sacrifices a starring role at an ACC school in order to play basketball at SMU. Nothing really clicked for him last year, for whatever reason, and I hope he gets the opportunity to show off the talent he put on display his freshman season at VT.

Bummer. I really feel bad for him. After a tough season last year i was hoping he'd bounce back as most improved. I'd love to see him come back with two strong years here.

the only reason I said chronic is because he's had at least 2 surgeries and he still is not recovered. I hope he makes it back too but we can not afforded to waste that scholarship if he is physically unable to perform

Has anybody heard how Ben's surgery and recovery has gone. Is he going to be back for sure next year?
