And Stanford did not receive one vote. The mindset should be play them like they're a top 25 team and hopefully bury them.

I believe that's last week's (November 9th) poll, right? New AP poll should be out tomorrow.

No, this is the week 2 (Nov 16) poll. They are released each week on Monday around noon. The only change in the top 25 was #17 Wisconsin dropped out. SMU was #27 last week, #26 this week.

Win next 2 convincingly and we'll be in. Stanford will be tough to beat convincingly. Going to have to shoot really well.

Since the AP poll does not come out until next Monday we will have to also beat a pretty good Yale team as well.

The voters who have us on their ballots have us in top 20, so it seems to me there is some either 'cheats' or 'cheater Larry Brown' or 'punish them' bias. Either way, win and show them.

This. We were ranked in pretty much every preseason poll before the sanctions, there is a fair contingent I am sure that dropped us from their ballot to punish us/avoid having to talk about how we would not be in NCAA. If SMU started the season in the top 20, with our schedule it is easily conceivable we could be undefeated through January, which would almost certainly lead to a ranking somewhere between 1 and 10. No one would want to deal with that story.

26 is not a bad ranking imo. But we will find out if they are correct in keeping us out of the top 25 after the next 2 games.

Ok so I went and checked my assumption and I may have been slightly off, but I think it's because we saw that we were so highly rated before the sanctions.
