Jank Vs. Brown

Everyone says they are very similar in the way they coach. We are 6-0, so I am not sure we have a lot to complain about. Seems like he goes very deep into the rotation and has 6 guys averaging 10 pts a game. He seems to be calling the right Defenses for the most part, especially given foul trouble. Can't defend the 3 very well, but Larry did not seem to do a great job either. (We seem to dare teams to beat us with the 3 as nobody seems to beat us in the paint)
Has anyone seen a stark contrast into the way Jank coaches versus Brown through 6 Games.

We are 6-0. Just as pumped about SMU Basketball even after LB.

Have seen a couple times when we get trigger happy and force bad shots. LB will pull a player out to talk to him about it. Jank lets them figure it out. Only one I can think of

The only difference I see has to do with player substitutions. LB usually would have a quick trigger to sub out a guy who made a mistake like bad shot selection, bad pass choice, or messing up his defensive assignment. I think these subs were primarily done not to punish the player but to instruct the player on the mistake while it was fresh. Jank seems a bit more inclined to let players play through the mistakes. This of course could be a result of having more upperclassmen this year and the shorter bench.
I think it has become an axiom here on Ponyfans that we are bad against the 3 but I don't buy that. Teams put up a lot of contested threes against us. The open threes we give up are either the result of a bad rotation (mistake) and relatively rare, or from well beyond the arc (where you definitely will be content to let them shoot from).

Seems to me that we are seeing far more 3-pointers with Jank than with Larry. Perhaps the players are not as shy about throwing one up there right now with Larry not on the bench...will be interesting to see how things change (or don't) when he gets back...

noticed Jank plays a lot of zone which Larry never does. But, that could be due to the corrupt NCAA's defensive rule changes and keeping guys out of foul trouble

There's no doubt we are shooting more threes but they seem to be coming in the flow of the offense. We definitely have more capable 3-point shooters on this team than years past. It will be interesting to see if that changes when LB comes back.
