How long has he called a three by including the SMU player's number? I've never noticed it before but did tonight.

Since I brought up the subject, what is your impression of our PA guy? Just curious.

I didn't notice it tonight but somebody pointed it out to me as well. Is tonight the first time?

Kind of strange to do it for your own team since it seems like you don't know your own players...

Would be kind of funny for the opponent though!

When I heard it, he first called the player's name — then the number.

Something like: "Three-pointer for Shake Milton — three, for ONE."

1 for 3. Or Jarrey Foster, 10 for 3

I think the guy is solid. Not over the top, not too low-key. Just right for Moody.

Exactly. The fact he never gets mentioned on here is a compliment to him -- he's neither bad nor over the top. I love going to Mavs games but I can't stand the over the top PA guys in most NBA arenas these days.

our guy is perfect. Absolutely does not need to be tweaked.

PA guy is good, but I wish we could get him to do the thing Bill Melton used to do on a three:

"Shake Milton has just scored ... A. THREE. POINT. PLAY."

The crowd can join in and yell it with him (the band still does it anyway after every made 3, regardless of the formulation the PA guys uses) if anyone wants to join in.

I'm curious if anyone under the age of 40 thinks the PA guy is good/perfect?

Don't love him. He is determined he's going to name the player and number of fouls shots no matter if the player is already in his shot rhythm or not. Keith Frazier shooting two free throws. Geez.

And can't you be cooler than "XXX for a three point field goal?" Like maybe "KEEEETH for a three" or "Ben for the deuce". We know its a field goal for gosh sakes.

Nope, I'm not a huge fan. Too proper. Too stiff. Too "my parents" PA guy.

Okay. I was being nice. I agree with this.

I don't want over the top or anything, but no need to give the entire name and number of our own players. And when he says "field goal," my 8 year old always says "this is not football."
