Any hotel/travel advice for making the trip of to philly?

Just grab any hotel near the Liacouras Center or is that an awful part of town? Is there a part of philly that isn't awful? And advice from those who've made the trip before would be appreciated.

Thanks

I'm staying at the doubletree on South broad, which I think is about three miles from Temple and not far from all the touristy stuff

All I have to offer is that I thought Liacouras was a first class experience last year. I really like the building and the vibe.

They even called me a few days after the game to ask if I enjoyed myself.

I'll be rolling in with two non Ponies who will be in full Mustang garb and ready to rock.

We'll be coming from my brother's house about an hour away in Jersey.

last year we had a great meal and pre-gamed at a nice spot downtown.

I've got another place I want to check out this year but the name escapes me right now.

That's all I've got...got to get myself in and out of NOLA unscathed first.

I stayed at the Courtyard on Juniper (downtown) for a few months during my consulting days - older building - not bad - lots of restaurants only blocks away - looks like a 15 to 20 minute ride to Temple from there.

Thinking of coming in from NYC. Think it feasible to bus in and out on Saturday, or do I need to think about staying the night?

So expensive..... Was thinking just going on one of the buses. Have been told they aren't that bad.

If you are having to get approval while she is a fiance, you are done, after you say I do. Lol
