Betrayed by Dallas's support of the team

I was betrayed by our own Thursday night.
I had to make a last-minute trip to Denver today. Had to miss the game, so gave my ticket to a friend I split seats with. Figured I'd watch it on delay at the house.
I had successfully avoided any signs of the SMU game all evening.
Then I drove into downtown on 35S.
And there it was.
The big SMU logo on Reunion Tower. The sign of a Mustang win.
Still, even knowing that we had won, I was a nervous wreck watching that game on TV. Man, I wish I could have been there!!!

Same thing happened to me in the NIT semis. Took a turn and there was the damn ball all lit up.

Dallas is starting to come around to this team-TV, media, newspaper all starting the bandwaggoning type of pulling for SMU Basketball like TCU Football has gotten in recent years. Winning with only 6, big comeback victory and undefeated season helps. When we run this out to 19-20 victories could really get interesting. Top of the Sports page today on DMN

I heard Junior do a segment very early when I got up. As usual, he was at the game and had good things to say. I also heard Norm mention it. He was about as positive as he can be about SMU.

Good. Wish they covered us more. How do we get them to carry our BB games on their station instead of what we have now (770)?

Love the response from MK @ the 2:35ish mark...
Question "do you think you can win with four?"
MK "Yeah, if they let us play..."
Only team that can beat SMU so far is the ncaa

Anecdotal: the country club crowd is definitely noticing what is happening with this team. Lots of people asking about what happened to Frazier, what's the next big game, etc.
Surprising how much people know about our team, I credit Whitmire and Gosselin.

Coworker with no SMU affiliation although he has been to games with friends. He told me today he was watching at home and had to go someplace in the car. Surprised himself because he ended up scanning through the AM stations looking for the game.

I lived with other athletes in a very large old house on Rosedale backing up to sorority row...literally at the top of "the hilltop."
From our rooftop you could see all of downtown. We had a swivel chair with a seatbelt bolted to the ridge of the roof at the highest part. We spent alot of time up there. Obviously there was no Reunion tower back then. And our beloved WOPPER has been replaced by a twelve unit condo. But After reading Junior's story i had a vision of climbing up to the roof, looking south and seeing a lit Reunion Tower way downtown.
Thanks for sharing.
