He has had a couple of good games but there is no doubt that if he makes the Lakers it will be for things other than scoring.

Well, I started looking around and it appears that Q is now playing with the Jazz in a league at Salt Lake. Here are his numbers:

Did he leave on his own? Or did the Lakers cut him?

Not sure. I have no idea how it works with the summer league rosters. That game he missed was the last one for the Lakers in the Long Beach league. This league in Salt Lake just started. Maybe it is common for unsigned guys to hop around, trying to showcase their talent for other teams.
