I had to laugh this morning as I was shaving and throwing stuff in a carry-on to head out for NOLA.

I've been following this particular team religiously since the day LB said, "We'll pick you up at the airport."

Not much happens with this crew that I don't find out about.

But it occurred to me this morning that there was one thing I either did not remember or know at all.

We have a Nic. We have a Markus. And a Sterling, a Ben, a Shake, Jordan,
Jarrey.

We had a Ryan, a Cannen,and a Yanick. We had Keith. And a Shawn, another Nick, even a Crandall.

and we have a "Wilfong."


Seriously…until I looked it up this morning I had no freakin idea if Wilfong even HAD a first name.


Seems like everybody else is on a first name basis around here.

Way to drain that three Wednesday night Jonathan!

Hate to say it, but I still like Wilfong. It's such an unusual name it comes off as a nickname. Like J-Frog.

But he sure does deserve recognition as being part of the team as much of any of the scholarship players. He is a special part of a special team.

I like how when he is in the game during a blowout, i.e. "Wilfong" time, the players make such an effort to get him the ball so he can shoot it.

yep. gotta love the Wolf! if you watch the camaraderie of the team, he's as much a part of it as any of them. they all know that they need guys like him to practice against, and they love when he is rewarded with playing time and they know when he gets in, it means they can relax for the most part b/c if Wolf's on the floor, the game is over.

Congratulations Jonathan for being an outstanding walk-on. We have
appreciated your contributions to the team and have enjoyed watching
you play. You are just like the entire Mustang squad - you are undefeated.

I hope you play in all of our 14 remaining games.
