Former Lakers center Shaquille O'Neal spoke at a Lakers event on Monday night at Staples Center and drew plenty of laughter when asked about his college days at LSU in the early 1990s: "Yes, they paid very well. Statute of limitations is up. I can talk about it...That's right baby, LSU."

ncaa does not penalize the sec.
I seem to remember cam newton's dad openly shopping him around. worst kept secret ever. ncaa is and always will be a joke.

He never gave amounts and details. Since it was so far back they probably won't even bother to ask. Kind of like when 30 for 30 told of Marcus Dupree's Mom telling OU that she need a double wide for him to stay at OU and all of a sudden one appeared. But it was so long ago that the NCAA did even bother with it. Plus he can always say he said it in jest. But when recruits hear that they know that LSU will take care of them. Might be good for recruiting.
