I remember LB saying Jalen wanted at least 30 minutes every night (presumably so he could fill up his stat sheet) and that he just couldn't promise him those kind of minutes. I think coach knew he had a couple of Illinois kids named Ben Moore and Sterling Brown who were going to have something to say about who got how many minutes

I recall that as well; distinctly remember "30 minutes +."

if my memory is correct, he walked off on the team right before the start of the TCU game. attempting to put a power move on LB to get his minutes.

he walked off before the 1st game that season to preserve a year of eligibility somewhere he could be the "go to" guy. It's worked out well for both sides as Ben Moore and Sterling Brown got more FR minutes than they would have if Jalen had stayed

Does Jalen Jones get a look at the NBA?

I still remember Larry Brown's first year playing at Texas State in San Marcos and watching Jalen Jones. Not much else on that team - but he was easy to remember. (I guess Nick Russell and Ryan Manuel, too.)

So he wouldn't be disappointed if he had a hot hand and sat the last 10 minutes of the game because he already had his 30 minutes? Sounds a little arrogant. You got a scholarship - you have got to earn time on the floor - every minute.

I guess he did at A&M. He is playing very well on the top team in the SEC and tournament bound.
