Due to a job change I have moved to Dallas (Lofts at Mockingbird station). When I move I always buy season tickets to the local D1 basketball team.

La Tech, Saint Louis U, and Little Rock (run the message board for UALR) have been the past teams. SMU is going to be the new one.

Anything a new comer would need to know?

I'm just walking over from the lofts so parking is not an issue.

Do the board members have a spot they drink at before the game?

Pretty excited about it. Hated to leave little rock as the Trojans are rolling this year but life happens.

Being in the LR area, I am pulling for Little Rock to make the tourney. They have a good chance of being 27-2 going into their conference tourney and with wins over SDSU, Tulsa, and ECU I would like to think that would be enough but they would be better off to win their tourney to be sure.

Quite a run with a first year head coach and 10 new players. Hoping to get to one of their games this year.

As for bars, Trinity Hall in MBS is a good bar and sometimes has a decent SMU crowd. Usually an older crowd though. One block north of you (walk up Worcola St or take the free SMU shuttle) on SMU Blvd there are two bars with big SMU crowds pre and post game - Barley House (SMU Blvd & Worcola) and Milo's (5645 SMU Blvd). Crowd at both is usually a mix of students and young alums. You can walk from there to the game as many do or hop on the shuttle. Also, not sure if you're aware but we sell beer at the games. Great new perk we added a couple of years ago. Enjoy.

The school bookstore is right across the expressway from you on Mockingbird and Bush Ave. if you want to stop by and get some smu apparel before going to the game. There's also a small store inside Moody that sells shirts and stuff.

Yes to barley and Milos. There's also an SMU Blvd location of the uptown bar called nodding donkey.
You will love moody and yes - we sell beer and wine at games.

Great to have you. Don't be surprised if you bump into some pro athletes or a former president. Tonight will be a great introduction to moody magic.

FYI. The Wynne game day shuttle picks up at the Mockingbird train station and takes you to Moody--runs starting about an hour before game time until about an hour after the game ends. It can save you a couple of steps if not time.
