on the Football board there is a pretty serious report that cincinnati may be announced as a new member later this week...that may not mean much on that board, but as to basketball, that would seem to be terrible for the AAC.

I heard they are having a party Friday night at Fifth Third Arena where their AD will have two hats at a table - Big 12 and SEC. He will pick the winner at 7:30pm afterwords a DJ will keep the party going....247 has Big 12 at 75% and SEC at 25%

Might take them a while to pick the one in the middle.

From UT's mouthpiece:
http://www.mystatesman.com/news/sports/ ... 4ud5kAKsPyOther than OU President David Boren and West Virginia’s E. Gordon Gee, there doesn’t seem to be enough support for adding at least two teams to the league because of the lack of appeal of available candidates.

I don't see anything even remotely resembling "a pretty serious report that Cincinnati may be announced as a new member later this week". . . on the football board or anywhere else. The totality of what I've seen is: (1) a report that the President of OU favors expansion; and (2) a report that Cincinnati refused (at least for now) to turn over certain records requested by the local paper. To get from there to "Big 12 may invite Cincinnati to be its next member this week" is a pretty huge leap to say the least.

It's just a matter of time until we get left behind again

And another kitten dies. We have to stop worrying about all this and just go about making our men's BB and football year in and year out winners in the AAC and see what happens.

This. I used to worry about it but it is what it is at this point. If a Chad Morris or Tom Herman had been hired in 2011, I have no doubt we would playing in the Big 12 next season.
One more thing, LB absolutely saved our athletic department's arse. We would currently be no different than Rice and waiting to die in C-USA if not for him. And I seriously doubt CM is here without seeing the success LB has had at SMU.

Good point - we cannot thank LB enough for giving us long suffering fans what we knew was possible with the right, for lack of a better term, "commitment".
Throw in having a pretty darn capable AD.
Sucks RGT and the powers accepted mediocrity for so long.

The best part is LB has given Dallas a glimpse of what SMU can become in the future. Best hire ever.
