Didn't we have a time out to use if we needed it?
Game was lost when Nic Moore had to sit for 4 minutes --- Key point in the game.
Hang this loss on Keith Frazier.

Hang the loss on bad defense. Last play was poorly executed though. Nic got caught on a bump and ran into the same place MK was in.

Bad D for sure. Never should have been close to coming down to a last play, or 2 or 3 though.

Defense was horrendous pretty much the entire game. But give Tulsa credit for both game plan and execution.

Brown once said motivation was never a problem for this team...UH and Tulsa make me think fatigue has set in.

We have now lost 2 games in which we gave up 89 and 82 points! Where has our great defense gone?

Everyone is afraid of fouling, especially in the first half. 2 fouls and you are on the bench.

^^^This.
Last year, we could play aggressive defense in both halfs. The amount of drives to the lane that looked soooo easy by Tulsa had something to do with some of our guys not wanting to contest, when they probably should have. Great game plan by Tulsa.
Expect to see the same thing from every team we play from here on out...

I'm surprised its taken so long for teams to decide to attack us inside-but they are now.

You never win a game where you "hold" your opponent to 60% shooting from the field.

another keep point was the sequence right after Nic's 4th, we were up 8. they scored cut to 6, we pass to Tolbert he misses the front end of a 1 and 1, they come back and get another layup. Now its 4 in a matter of 30 seconds.
Have said this for years, missing the front end of a 1 and 1 is a turnover. And its not just going 0-1 on the line its actually 0-2.

We did have a timeout left and Markus shot the ball with about 8 seconds left, still plenty of time to regroup and get a good possession. We ran the same rub play that got Nic a great shot on a previous possession (same play we won with against Cal) and Tulsa sniffed it out the second time so the play broke down. Still no excuse for not calling a timeout.
One of the new rule changes implemented this year or last (can't remember which) prevents coaches from calling timeouts in live ball situations. So the onus was on the players last night to call that timeout and they didn't have the awareness too. I have to think Larry was dying inside watching Markus throw up that airball.

yeah and airball is one thing, but one with 6 seconds left and nic getting hot is really a crime. And MK is a senior. It almost looked like he had no idea what was on the clock, which is not like him.
