LB is feeling feisty

Tweets from a UCONN reporter:

Ed Daigneault @EdDaigneault
SMU coach Larry Brown is not happy with the NCAA. "To say that there was a lack of compliance is the biggest bunch of bull."
Brown: "You need to be punished, I get it, but they wouldn't do that to a power conference. They're going to get Southern Miss, SMU."
Brown: "The NCAA had 6-8 weeks to make a decision. They waited 15 weeks. (The seniors) had no recourse" about playing elsewhere for 1 year.
More Brown: "This conference gets no respect. Somebody has to do something about it."

Can you imagine this season without our seniors? Guessing the W-L record would be quite different.

Amen! However now they will find some other reason to hurt us-like denying our appeal.

Bout time he/someone spoke up. It's getting ridiculous.

Pitino was pretty harsh on them as well. Glad to see the coaches speaking out against the hypocrisy.

quick quick Stallion please post here again how righteous the NCAA is and how we should be thanking our lucky stars that the penalty wasn't worse while ignoring UNC!

I applaud Coach Brown. NCAA Enforcement = insanity.

I'm wondering if LB would make comments like this in the press without at least the tacit approval (and/or encouragement) of Hart and Turner. Ie. is this part of a disciplined communications effort by SMU? I honestly don't know.

I really had my doubts about LB being all in after the Eman situation, the UCLA loss and the NCAA sanctions, but he seems to be more dug in now than ever before. I think he's peeved at the doubters and wants to prove them wrong. I heard he wants a contract extension and he better get it. LB thinks he can win a championship here, and he's going for it.

Of course he can. And he doesn't care about the chump money they're going to pay him either. Just the fact that he can keep doing it

Working in the limelight doing it the right way - teaching the kids - staying busy doing what he loves.

I just hope they don't find out about the other stuff haha

I am very proud to have him as our coach. And I think Chad has a good chance to build a similar reputation.

Getting coach Brown was one of the best things to happen to SMU athletics in a long time. Hope he stays a long time. Having said that, I hope Jank doesn't get tired of waiting for his time and bails on us. He Had a nice 9 game run there and I think he will be a good next coach for us.
