After beating Cinci on 2/6, Memphis has lost 3 of 4, including @Tulane & @USF.

Due to a lack of interest in the Memphis community, U of M is at risk of losing a $800k annual payment from the Grit-n-Grind Grizzlies.

We had better drill Memphis and give Josh a nice going-away present.

Maybe he can beat us and pull a Les Miles, but I think he is gone.

We have not exactly been our best when we play in Memphis. We need to play a great game cause Memphis will be gunning for us like Temple, UConn, Houston and Tulsa.

Maybe their donors will look at our FB program as to what happens if you hold off due to a large buy out. They have the money to do it.

I would guess that this season has been wholly unacceptable at Memphis.

Josh has a big buy out -- four years at $2.6m per year, but it's getting very expensive to keep him.
The $800,000 payment referenced above is for an average turnstile count of 10,000 per game. Less than that, and the payment is reduced, until it is zero if the average turnstile count is less than 6,000 per game. If they go under 6,000 for two years, their contract with the Grizzlies is voided, and they have to renegotiate. (This payment is because the Grizzlies get parking, concessions, etc.)
Conservatively, annual ticket sales are off 3,500, At a conservative $40 per ticket over a 20 games home season, that's $2.8 million. Add in the lost payments from the Grizzlies, and he's costing the Tigers at least $3 to $4 million in lost revenue. This doesn't count boosters who are sitting on their checkbooks.
BTW, three years ago Memphis had the #3 ranked recruiting class in the nation.

Supposedly concession stands aren't even open at the FedEx Forum for Memphis games due to the small crowds these days.

It would be interesting to note which AAC team is the best draw each year at away arenas. I'm guessing it's us this year and possibly last.
I'm guessing we'll save Memphis bacon with the Griz. We'll probably draw substantially more.
