I'm calling you out. Two games in a row that 112 was not full. I know the opponents don't wow you, and I don't care. Come support your fellow classmates, especially the seniors who are in the home stretch of their careers who have given so much to give us a sports team that actually wins. Get there, be loud WHEN WE ARE ON DEFENSE, NOT OFFENSE, and stay until the end. It's the very least you can do for Nic and MK, and yet you don't do it. Weak.

Maybe I'm not looking in the right place, but does it appear as though by and large the football team doesn't attend games?

All I know is us middle aged overweight season ticket holders will have no influence on the student body. It has to come from within their peer group.

The student attendance has been sorry the last two games. But the blue seats have a solid attendance base that always seems to turn out every game.

I'm somewhat befuddled by the real lack of engagement by the students. For years I said, "they have too many options in Dallas", unlike say, Waco. Then I thought, well it's probably the type of students that attend SMU. Many of them come from environments where attending a basketball game, just isn't really that big of a deal.
So to me I'm going to lay this on the administration. Administation needs to convey a message through all media that essentially says, "do you want your degree to have more value? Then SMU needs you. Greater attendance means a better atmosphere. A better atmosphere attracts better athletes. Better athletes put SMU on ESPN and gives the school additional notoriety. Better name recognition means your degree carries name recognition throughout the US. After all, Duke wasn't always Duke. Nor was Uconn. Georgetown. Yet people know of those schools in part, because of their athletic success.
All of these things in turn, bring $$ to the school, which is then used to add additional programs, facilities etc.
There has to be an attitude of "no matter what, I'm going to the SMU game." I see the same adults over and over. We've committed ourselves. Students, now it's your turn. At a minimum, kick some arse on Thursday. Then show up next year!

There is no leader with Ramon gone. He was the catalyst for the MOB. It's up to a student to take initiative and lead the MOB. Current setup is pathetic.

And he was in force today. You can tell he is missing the scene.

I am all for encouraging students to go but I do not think "go to the game so your degree will have more value" is likely to get the job done. Perhaps something with a more immediate and tangible payback like "it is a lot of fun and the team needs your support?"
