Dreaming

Postby Stangs1970 » Sun Mar 13, 2016 5:35 pm

I have been reading all past info regarding M. Boldin and I watched him this weekend in the state championship game. Wow!

This kid is really good, his defense and shot blocking alone is tremendous.......A lot like Yanick M.

No where has he commented on where he is going all the pundits are speculating. I am not saying we have a chance but nobody knows what this kid will be doing. they even have TCU as a "mild" interest........That should tell you that it is all bologna on what he might do. Here is some of what I found out:

-We all know he and Terrance Ferguson are good friends.
-Boldin visited Bama when Boldin was committed.
-He and TF were at the Uconn game at Moody together.
-Neither has tipped their hands but it would seem they could be a package?
-Boldin has not tipped his hand whatsoever, never said Kentucky that is all speculation. Could be right but still speculation.

No harm in dreaming.

Obviously it's highly unlikely they are coming here, but even if they did, I'm not sure how additive that would be. Larry's coaching style wouldn't seem to lend itself well to one&dones, much less asking him to shift to that approach on the fly. And I assume both of those guys at least think they are one & done.

pretty sure LB knew Mudiay was a "one and done" and that didn't keep him from wanting E-man

I could see him absorbing one, not two. Also, program was in a different place then - I think he's less desperate now. But what do I know

hes desperate becuase he is running out of time. He would take whoever can help him prove a point. Has a burr under his saddle, as they say here in Dallas.

You know what would be cool, more threads by this one poster, about a kid we've never recruited. You know what else I don't want to hear about, most any Dallas kid. It's a cesspool

Question for you hoopmanx. Why sush a smartass? I am a Life long organic fan with season tickets when we could have a conversation with each other across the gym. Been going to football games religiously thru the toughest times. Wear our merchandise all over the country. I have added additional fans into the kitty that now go to games. None of us graduates but ever bit of rabid fans there have ever been. The Mustangs are my biggest passion. My father sold programs as a poor kid growing up 5 miles from the cotton bowl and started taking me to games as a kid when he could afford tickets. How many like me took the time to find this little forum?

I make a post that just says dreaming about a couple of players that would not be caught dead at a game three years ago and you come off like a real jerk, why?

At this point, we seem to be able to recruit 3-4 star recruits who don't come with excessive (by college BB standards) baggage. There is no reason to take a dip in the Cesspool?

The cesspool worked out pretty well for A&M, and it got Kennedy a 5 year contact extension.

As for the players Stangs1970 asked about, neither will end up at SMU but it's not unusual for a fan to wonder about these guys. Ferguson's history with PP is likely something SMU wants to stay away from regardless of how serious his interest really is in SMU. Bolden is a guy we would love to have but he doesn't have serious interest in SMU. Simple as that. He's a great kid with good grades as far as I know.

To be clear, I respect the hell out of your Mustang fandom and we, as a fan base, are lucky to have guys like you. I'm very vocal that we don't need tshirt fans in hoops and I don't want them. That said, there is a natural order to program building and recruiting. Not everyone has to do it the same way, some rely on transfers, other go HS etc. what never ever happens is for a suitor like SMU,to enter the sweepstakes on a top 5 kid, weeks before he decides. SMU did their due diligence on Bolden and never even gave it a sniff and that was before the 11th hour. There is no chance now and we don't care, cause Bolden isn't better than Kapita or Froling, just as good.

As for locals, A$M didn't win bc of the frosh. They won bc of transfers, see jalen/house/Collins. Gilder certainly wasn't nor will he ever be Shake, whom we took 5 days before Gilder decided. Hogg is better than I thought, but he's certainly not head and shoulders over Jarrey. The only area they can point to is TD, whom we've addressed w Froling/Kapita and probably Bruno soon. That pipeline begets the next Froling and possibly another Angolan, who is also top 5. Beyond all of that, we never had to deal w/local handlers like Snoop, Big E, jazzy etc. they are as bad as it gets in America. DFW kids have their place, after they go someplace else, fizzle and transfer. I just know these roads, way better than most, and the staff has a very definitive stance that only gives cursory looks to locals.

Interesting info. Do you have inside information or are you speculating? If it's more than opinion that's great I will come to attention.

My point is I cannot find anywhere this kid said where he would be going. I researched it and can't find any comment he made to anyone. His most recent comment was from two weeks ago when he said his decision would be forthcoming. None of the schools are claiming victory, I was only making the point above. Nobody really does know.

I read a lot on Kapita and Froling and I am sorry but neither have Boldin's talent coming into school. Froling is a 3 star and Kapita is a 4 star. Froling is considered a good passer and can score, not sure if he is underrated but unless you have personally seen him I am not sure you can rate him. He is so well thought of that he was left off their country's national team. I am not saying that to put him down, but it does say he isn't automatic and certainly not Boldin's caliber at this time. Kapita is considered an unpolished athlete that runs the floor well. I expect both will do well, but they are not Boldin.

So you are saying Ferguson is an absolute no go as well? He will not attend our school? The seats they were sitting in are not purchased and where recruits sit. I realize that Boldin was likely with a friend, but really we didn't speak to either while they were there? Shame on us if we didn't.

Again, if you are an insider then I will rethink the facts I have found.

He's an insider. Go research his previous posts. He's very credible and close to spot on in most instances.

1970, the youngest member of the Boomers is 20 years old and named Ben Simmons. There is one 21 year old and the rest significantly older. Why are you suggesting that Froling not making the team is some sign that he is not a top upcoming talent? Because he only led the U18 squad to the championship? Cmon man!
