Anyone have an update on T Ferguson or Bruno. Gotta figure we are a long shot for Ferguson.

No inside info but I think Bruno is bueno for SMU

And yes I know the inaccuracy of CB. However, thought it was wort noting that the FSU insiders think FSU.

I have serious doubts that Ferguson will be eligible-at least as a freshman. He might get the Proche mandatory academic redshirt ruling from NCAA due to the fact that the NCAA probably won't accept some of his core credits from Prime Prep

^^ think the same may be true for Bruno, which wouldnt be the worst thing. It would allow us to stagger him from our class of bigs this year that incldues Kapita and Froling

I'd think that's exactly how they are approaching Bruno. Well lose one via transfer, if they can't give him an academic redshirt

What's the level of certainty that Kapita makes it to campus in the fall? As an SMU fan I'm especially gun shy about high-profile recruits with academic red flags. They seem to not make it to campus or else transfer away.

Can't say with certainty if he will actually show up but SMU did their due diligence unlike a kid now at UNT

a) I think the prep year kapita took almost certainly helped him from an academic side b) SMU has dedicated even more resources to academic counseling since the time KF enrolled and will certainly be much more on top of Kapita's situation c) Kapita likely has a good attitude towards making the grades as he already suffered some negative consequences.

His issue was a too low ACT which he worked on and improved. He should be fine.

If any of the incoming bigs have to redshirt due to NCAA eligibility issues that would not be the worst thing. James Proche had to do it in football and it seems that he is one our best wr's in Spring ball. We just need to get them on campus.

Geez in Basketball with a reduced roster it would be a disaster. Proche didn't play much high school football. Played YMCA schedule at Prime Prep (not like Prime Prep Basketball) and then had to sit out about first month at Desoto -I'm not sure if he ever got in the starting lineup at DeSoto. Redshirting for him made some sense
