Chase another academic qualifier risk?

Looks like Kapita might not be part of the class either. If so front court depth could be an issue.

Class doesn't seem as impressive as it did a few weeks ago.

Only players taller than 6'6" next year are Froling, Semi, and Ben Moore. Let's hope no one gets hurt

This one hurts. I will admit to being confused as to why we offer guys we can't get in. Either we are broken at the offer part of broken on the "can't get in" part.

Everything about college basketball recruiting confuses me. That's why I rely on others on here to tell me what the hell is going on. Having said that, I'm not sure SMU has a broken process. This stuff seems to happen with most high level programs on a pretty consistent basis. Kapita was originally an Arky signee after all. And other than Mudiay, have we had any other commits bail on us before signing/enrolling (for whatever reason) before this year? I can't remember.
What I do know is that we are batting .000 on guys who commit to us on national TV.

Josiah Turner did not make it on campus either.

SMU fans never noticed until about 8 years ago because SMU never accepted recruits that couldn't qualify under NCAA rules. Then June Jones was hired and had about 12 non-qualifiers in his first 2 full recruiting classes. Before that we had recruits fail to qualify under SMU admission standards. Its common at most major programs to have NCAA non-qualifiers-at least at about the 80% of schools that take minimum qualifiers

We've had way too many recruits bail on us - some of them got better offers. The tall kid from Charlotte who ended up at Iowa State last year. And then the kid from Memphis who ended up at Kansas last year. Lots of flakes in this recruiting process.

It is what it is...we also flipped Jarrey from Rice and DaShawn McDowell from Tulsa, and are still in it for Charlie Moore who was a Memphis commit. S--- happens
