Louisville MB--the first shoe is about to drop

When Katrina Powell published her book accusing the ULouisville of paying her tens of thousands of dollars to entertain student atheletes, Rick Pitino came out hard and attacked her. Not long thereafter, it became evident that there was a lot of truth to her allegations. Since then, Pitino has remained tight-lipped and it is clear, he has had many many restless nights.

It appears that the Board of Trustees is undertaking steps to fire the University's president. Some reports say he's already stepped down. Any bets on whether Pitino makes it much longer?

Normally I don't take comfort in other's misery, but Pitino was staunchly opposed to SMU being a part of the Big East and made it clear he would leave the AAC. So as far as I'm concerned, "buh bye."

They are not related

Not related in the sense that the President is not being fired because of the book? I agree. But three members of the Board are being investigated for misappropriation of public funds, the school is under an NCAA investigation, there are criminal indictments which are probably forthcoming and other issues that attack the integrity of the University and its financial well-being. When the President leaves, and the Board is reconfigured, everything and everybody is at risk.

Much like LB, Patino can claim ignorance or lack of personal knowledge, but the dreaded "lack of institutional control" will raise its head and bite him.

They can fire Patino all they want but Pitino will still be the basketball coach.

The governor of KY, Matt Bevin, is power hungry since he took office. He is doing his best to screw around with UL, the administration and anything else going on there. I am not surprised by what he does to the school.

The school did what the school did. The governor is an after fact.

Sounds like the president and board need to be messed with.
