Tubby Smith is picking up where The Boy Coach left off.

Nick Marshall,a 6-11, 248 lbs., 4 Star sophomore forward has left the Tiger program. Marshall had 3 points and 2.6 rebounds as a freshman, but was expected to have a larger role this year following the graduation of big man Shaq Goodwin.

This leaves Memphis with only 8 scholarship players, and they will be playing small. The Lawson Brothers and a 2 Star juco transfer are the only players over 6-5.

In an effort to add depth in their front court, the Tigers have signed Baylor graduate transfer Chad Rykhoek, a 6-11, 230 lbs center. Rykhoek was injured his entire Baylor career, and hasn't played in a league game since high school. He turns 23 in September.

Tubby Smith says he is still recruiting for the 2016 season. The Tigers have talked to a graduate transfer big from MS State, who is trying to get an additional year of eligibility for medical reasons.
