I heard it will be next week but I haven't seen anything official from SMU. Anyone know if it is confirmed. We need a nice crowd to show up and let these guys know we're ready for some Moody Magic.

It's official:
SMU will host a pair of open basketball practices in Moody Coliseum next week as the hoops season is just weeks away. The men's team will have an open session on Wednesday, November 2, beginning at 4:30 p.m. The Mustang women will host their open session a day later, on Thursday, November 3, beginning at 5 p.m. Admission to each practice is free and seating is open.
Both teams open at home in Moody Coliseum on Friday, Nov. 11. The women host Texas State at 11:30 a.m. The men face Gardner-Webb that evening at 7 p.m.

Gosh I wish we would start distinguishing between the 2 sports; basketball and women's basketball. They both play with a round ball. End of similarity.

I can't make it because of work, but those who go can you share some notes or observations you have from the practice. I will live vicariously through y'all.

I'm particularly interested in how the three freshmen look. We are going to need solid contributions from them pretty soon. Do they look ready? Anyone stand out?

I believe last year they had the garage behind Crum open for parking.

They looked pretty solid. Shake and semi looked fantastic shooting. The rest of the team is about as you'd expect. A lot of shooters and they're are athletic and move the ball quick. I was impressed with Jank. He has a very soft tone in practice yet is a very good instructor. This year should be fun.

I really liked what I saw from Semi. At one point he drained a 3 and on the next play caught a lob for a slam!
