http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2673 ... =editorialI definitely feel the NCAA should take some cues from baseball. Allow high school players to enter the NBA draft. If they are not selected where they want and they do not have an agent, allow them to go to college. Once in college, they must stay for three year before they can reenter the draft.

College football and basketball have become what they are because the NFL and NBA have no interest in taking on the costs associated with minor league systems like MLB has and why should they when the NCAA has gladly accepted that role and made it so profitable?
I do think bball is more akin to baseball in that guys are more physically capable of going pro right out of H.S. and expanding the NBDL might not be a bad idea as an alternative for the "one and dones" who have no interest in getting an education. Many of these guys realistically aren't college material to begin with, so why deny them the right to work coming right out of H.S.?

One would think the Player's union would have issues with this. Drafting HS players means Union members lose jobs. And potentially the HS kids would be a bit cheaper than more veteran proven players.
And if kids bass the NCAA to go pro, then more non NBA talent is recruited and playing in college. Thus th need to pay players to prevent them from going pro diminishes.
