Oregon is a 16.5 pts. favorite. I was under the impression that Boise had a good basketball team.
Looking now at a 3-2 Record with a loss to Mississippi State and College of Charleston.
Guess we will know more after Oregon (@Oregon). No chance I will watch as the only thing more annoying than the Blue Turf is the Oregon Floor. I really have no idea how the refs can make calls on that floor.

I like the Oregon floor. Let's see how BSU does.

Oregon is not going to cover. Given our lack of ability to cover the 3 this year, not loving 11-27 (40%) from 3. Live and die by the 3.

Oregon outscores Boise by 8 in second half to win 68-63. Looks like another tough road game for SMU.

Oregon's best player has only played the last two games due to an injury I believe. And he is still shaking the rust off and has not played well. So I don't think this Oregon team is as good as it will be once their best player gets back into form.

I think this has been a problem for several years, not just this year, but this year seems to be particularly bad - so far anyway. This has the making of another "Michigan" blow out. I hope not, I hope we can make some improvements.

There is no way these dudes are Michigan-level athletes. That being said, you don't have to be an amazing athlete to shoot the three well. We really should be a bit better at cutting off the passing lanes with our speed and length. More zone?

SMU cast-off Brian Bernardi (now at Hofstra in the Colonial Conference) is a pretty good 3 point shooter but don't expect him to create his own shot

I did not mean to imply they were, simply that teams (and individuals) seem to always have record setting shooting games against us and teams that are already strong at 3s will be extremely problematic for us. So the score tonight might be similar to the Michigan game, but for different reasons.

92 are you saying you think that Boise St will beat SMU?

someone looking at our stats might fear our 3 point shooting. While we've only taken 112 threes compared to our opponents 159, our guys are hitting 38% compared to 33% for our opponents. We've got 2 guys who shoot a good number of threes (Sterling & Semi) hitting 50% and Jarrey's 5-8 shooting suggests he might be a high percentage guy as well if he shot more often. Shake has taken more than anyone and his percentage is low at 31% but I expect that percentage to improve as the year goes on.

Let's put it like this, I hope the Mustangs cover the 5 1/2 pt spread. But I am nervous from the first few games I don't think we've looked very good. Particularly our perimeter D and I think that has been a weakness for some time with us.

What teams do look good on perimeter D behind the 3 point line?
